Personal Experiences Shared by Luksits

During one of my visits to Por Sala Tan's residence, I was given permission to explore older storage areas containing sacred objects accumulated over many years.

Among these belongings, I discovered this Seur relic in an unassuming location, where it had remained largely overlooked.

Further discussion revealed its connection to Por Sala Tan's senior master and the older Mount Popa spiritual lineage.

Of particular significance was the accompanying wooden box, commissioned by Por Sala Tan more than 60 years earlier. Ac Lek had preserved knowledge of the handwritten Yant and their intended ritual purpose.

Among practitioners familiar with Seur Baramee, such relics are traditionally associated with gaining respect, attracting influential supporters and maintaining authority without confrontation.

Its principal qualities are traditionally associated with:

  • Maha Baramee and Maha Amnat: Commanding respect, authority and leadership.

  • Chok Larp and Maha Pokasap: Encouraging opportunities and sustainable prosperity.

Its original hand-yanted wooden box and historical connection with Por Sala Tan make it a particularly meaningful collector's piece.

Historical Background

Mount Popa and the Burmese Spiritual Lineage

Mount Popa is an important centre of Burmese Nat worship and traditional spiritual practice.

According to the relic's inherited history, one of Por Sala Tan's senior masters was a direct spiritual disciple of Bo Min Aung, a revered figure associated with the Mount Popa tradition.

The Seur relic passed through this lineage before eventually entering Por Sala Tan's possession.

Its estimated age of more than 150 years comes from the inherited account; the exact date of manufacture remains unverified.

Seur Baramee

Within Thai-Burmese Wicha, Seur represents courage, authority, territorial protection and commanding spiritual presence.

However, Seur Baramee is not simply associated with aggression. Its higher expression concerns natural authority, where respect is granted through personal presence rather than intimidation.

This quality made such relics particularly valued in ceremonies involving leadership, guardianship and the attraction of support.

Origins of the Materials

The exact material composition of the Seur relic remains unidentified.

Experienced practitioners have suggested that it may belong to an older category of sacred materials associated with Seur, Chang, Moo Tong Daeng or other powerful forest entities.

It may also incorporate relic-grade materials traditionally reserved for altar guardians and authority-based Wicha. These remain possibilities rather than confirmed identifications.

The carving displays an aged golden-brown surface, darkened patina and numerous sacred inscriptions along its elongated base.

Old Sai Sin and metal Takruts remain attached to the figures.

The accompanying wooden box was commissioned by Por Sala Tan over 60 years ago and bears handwritten Yant from his earlier period of practice.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Ritual

The Seur relic was traditionally placed upon an altar as a central source of Baramee and ritual authority.

Its principal role was to establish a commanding yet balanced spiritual presence during ceremonies.

Seur Baramee and Authority

Within the inherited Wicha, the Seur's presence was invoked to strengthen authority, maintain spiritual order and encourage respect without unnecessary confrontation.

Preparation of Saneh and Wealth Oils

The relic was also used during the preparation of multiple batches of sacred oils associated with Saneh, Metta Maha Niyom and wealth attraction.

This reflects an important aspect of Seur Wicha: commanding Baramee may also be directed towards personal attraction, favourable relationships and prosperity.

The Original Wooden Box

Por Sala Tan commissioned the wooden box more than 60 years ago.

Its handwritten Yant were traditionally intended for spiritual containment, alignment and preservation while the relic was not being used.

Ac Lek preserved knowledge of these inscriptions, maintaining an important connection with Por Sala Tan's earlier ritual practices.

Personal Notes

What makes this Seur Relic of Por Sala Tan particularly meaningful is its combination of inherited history, ritual significance and personal connection with the master.

I discovered the relic during one of my visits to Por Sala Tan's residence, where it had remained among older sacred belongings for many years.

Its subsequent identification revealed a connection with one of his senior masters and a Burmese spiritual lineage associated with Bo Min Aung of Mount Popa.

The original wooden box adds considerable importance to its provenance. Personally commissioned by Por Sala Tan more than 60 years ago, it retains handwritten Yant from his earlier years, with their significance preserved by Ac Lek.

Another distinctive aspect is the relic's traditional use in preparing Saneh and wealth oils.

Although Seur Wicha is commonly associated with strength and protection, this relic illustrates how commanding Baramee may also be applied towards attraction, goodwill and prosperity.

Its authority is traditionally understood as controlled rather than aggressive, encouraging respect and assistance without unnecessary confrontation.

For collectors of Por Sala Tan's older sacred objects, this piece represents a rare connection between Burmese spiritual inheritance, altar-grade Seur Wicha and the master's personal ritual history.

The Seur Relic embodies the traditional qualities of commanding Baramee, natural authority, influential support, stable prosperity and enduring spiritual guardianship.
