Historical Background

The source material for this amulet was gaduk chang kraden, the relic bone of a chang that had passed away at the peak of its manhood. In traditional belief, such timing preserves the strongest essence of vitality and attraction. Por Sala Tan secured these relics and used them to carve Mae Per, uniting the chang’s primal energy with Mae Per’s own seneh. The lineage of Mae Per talismans has always been central in Thai seneh traditions, but few are made with such rare material bases.

Materials

The front is carved from gaduk chang kraden, charged with Mae Per’s form. The back is reinforced with lead melted from takruts, carrying layers of maha seneh mantra. Into this were added soil collected by mahouts and naman chang, binding the relic with the lived essence of the chang and its caretakers. Por Sala Tan harmonised these volatile elements through extended chanting, sealing them into a stable whole.
