Guman Thong – 102nd Birthday Batch
Luang Phor Yam • Wat Sam Ngam • BE 2560 (2017)
Personal Experiences Shared by Luksits
After wearing this amulet, many who collect Guman Thong from Luang Phor Yam experienced improved business, stronger customer traffic, smoother negotiations and unexpected financial opportunities. Some devotees also describe timely intuition before important decisions, helping them recognise favourable opportunities or avoid troublesome situations.
For business owners, Guman Thong is traditionally kept close to the shop or workplace for customer attraction, prosperity and protection, while smaller Barang examples such as this are suitable for daily carrying.
Summary
Created in BE 2560 (2017), this Guman Thong belongs to Luang Phor Yam's special 102nd Birthday Batch, commemorating his remarkable 102nd year of life.
The edition continues the renowned Wat Sam Ngam Guman Thong lineage inherited from the legendary Luang Por Tae, whose Guman Thong Wicha established Wat Sam Ngam as one of Thailand's best-known centres for this sacred tradition.
This particular example is individually painted gold with a red-painted pedestal. It retains the original red-and-white Sai Sin from the consecration ceremony, together with sacred white blessing powder visible upon the head.
The Guman Thong has subsequently been newly encased in a handcrafted silver waterproof casing, protecting the original surface, Sai Sin and sacred powder while preparing the piece for long-term wear.
Historical Background
Wat Sam Ngam, Nakhon Pathom, became famous through the Guman Thong Wicha of Luang Por Tae, one of the most recognised masters associated with this tradition in modern Thai amulet culture.
His knowledge was preserved by Luang Phor Yam, who continued preparing and consecrating Guman Thong according to the established Wat Sam Ngam lineage.
In BE 2560, Luang Phor Yam reached the exceptional age of 102 years. This special birthday batch commemorated that milestone and his lifelong preservation of the sacred tradition inherited from Luang Por Tae.
As one of Luang Phor Yam's late-period commemorative releases, the batch holds particular historical interest among collectors of Wat Sam Ngam sacred objects.
Sacred Materials & Ritual
The figure was formed from baking clay blended with traditional sacred materials associated with the Wat Sam Ngam Guman Thong formula.
The mixture traditionally incorporates:
- Holy soils collected from seven graveyards.
- Sacred earth from seven piers or ports.
- Materials gathered from other auspicious “seven places”.
- Pong Prai Kumarn sacred powder.
- Bone fragments.
- Temple earth.
- Sacred herbs and flower pollen.
- Old sacred powders preserved through the Luang Por Tae lineage.
- Baking clay forming the body of the figure.
This example was individually finished with gold paint across the Guman Thong and red paint across the pedestal. Sacred white blessing powder remains upon the head.
Most importantly, the original red-and-white Sai Sin remains tied around the figure. Sai Sin is traditionally used during Thai Buddhist chanting and blessing ceremonies, carrying a direct ceremonial association with the consecration in which it was used.
The sacred materials were carefully prepared before each Guman Thong was individually formed and hand-finished. Natural variations in the clay, painted surface, blessing powder and ceremonial Sai Sin give every piece its own individual character.
Consecration
The batch followed the traditional Wat Sam Ngam Guman Thong Wicha transmitted through Luang Por Tae's lineage and preserved by Luang Phor Yam.
An important element associated with the Wat Sam Ngam method is the Invocation of the Thirty-Two Body Parts, symbolically completing the spiritual body of the Guman Thong during its ritual preparation.
The figures subsequently underwent extended chanting and meditative consecration according to the established lineage.
The retained Sai Sin is particularly meaningful on this example because it preserves a physical ceremonial element associated with the blessing process.

Recommended Pairing
Guman Thong + Nang Kwak
Best for: Business owners, retail shops, salespeople, freelancers and commission-based work.
The Guman Thong is traditionally associated with seeking opportunities, drawing customers, guarding its owner and providing subtle intuitive warnings.
Nang Kwak is Thailand's classic merchant figure, honoured for beckoning customers, money and prosperous trade into a business.
Together they form a well-established business pairing: the Guman Thong is believed to bring customers and opportunities towards the owner, while Nang Kwak calls them into the business and supports continued trade and cashflow.
In traditional Thai shops, Guman Thong and Nang Kwak are often kept facing the entrance as complementary symbols of commerce, customer attraction and prosperity.
Personal Notes
The BE 2560 102nd Birthday Guman Thong commemorates an exceptional milestone in Luang Phor Yam's life and belongs to the later period of his sacred works at Wat Sam Ngam.
This particular example is especially complete in presentation, retaining its gold-painted figure, red-painted pedestal, sacred white blessing powder and red-and-white consecration Sai Sin. The newly fitted silver waterproof casingprovides additional protection for these original details during daily wear.
Its traditional sacred-material composition, retained ceremonial elements, 102nd Birthday provenance and direct connection to the Wat Sam Ngam Guman Thong Wicha of Luang Por Tae and Luang Phor Yam make it a distinctive late-period example from this respected lineage.
