Jiu Gong Ba Gua

Lhasa, Tibet
2 Inches
Mainstream Artifact

Actual piece as shown will be given

These talismans were hand-selected during my personal journey to Lhasa, Tibet sourced directly from top local collectors and spiritual keepers who truly understand their sacred purpose. Unlike commercial brass knock-offs, these are:

🔹 Handcrafted using traditional Tibetan-Chinese methods

🔹 Made with sacred materials, not industrial alloys

🔹 Ritually awakened and sealed for real spiritual work

Each piece was blessed in:

Sera Monastery
one of Tibet’s most revered Buddhist monastic universities, founded in 1419 near Lhasa. Belonging to the Gelug school, alongside Ganden and Drepung, Sera is renowned for its Buddhist teachings, philosophical debates, meditation and protective tantric rituals. Its spiritual traditions continue today in Tibet and at its re-established monasteries in southern India.

Jokhang Temple
located in the heart of Lhasa, is one of Tibet’s holiest Buddhist temples, founded in the 7th century during the reign of King Songtsen Gampo. It houses the revered Jowo Shakyamuni statue, traditionally believed to depict Buddha at the age of twelve and brought to Tibet by Princess Wencheng of China. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, Jokhang remains a major pilgrimage destination where devotees gather for prayers, offerings and prostrations. It stands as a sacred symbol of Tibetan Buddhism, spiritual devotion and centuries of religious heritage.

Nine Palaces & Eight Trigrams Talisman (九宫八卦牌)

Sacred Structure & Symbolism

The Jiu Gong Ba Gua is a traditional protective talisman combining Chinese metaphysics, Tibetan Buddhism and ancient spiritual traditions. Its design consists of three concentric circles, each representing different aspects of cosmic harmony and protection.

1. Outer Circle – 12 Chinese Zodiac Animals

Features the 12 zodiac animals, representing the 12 Earthly Branches and the natural cycles of time. Together with the Heavenly Stems, they form the traditional 60-year Jia Zi (甲子) cycle.

2. Middle Circle – Eight Trigrams (Bagua)

Contains the Eight Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain) and Kun (Earth).

Arranged according to the Later Heaven sequence, they symbolise the balance of natural forces, directions, elements and different aspects of life.

3. Inner Circle – Nine Palaces (Lo Shu Grid)

A sacred 3 × 3 numerical grid representing Feng Shui, cosmic balance and the harmony of energies.

Each palace carries a symbolic meaning:

  • 1 – White: Health and healing
  • 2 – Black: Protection
  • 3 – Green: Growth and Wood
  • 4 – Blue-Green: Prosperity
  • 5 – Yellow: Balance and authority
  • 6 – White: Leadership
  • 7 – Red: Energy and vitality
  • 8 – White: Stability
  • 9 – Purple: Fire and achievement

4. Central Mantra Wheel – Spiritual Blessings

At the heart of the talisman is often a sacred mantra wheel, traditionally believed to invoke spiritual blessings, strengthen protection and harmonise surrounding energies.

Together, these sacred elements make the Jiu Gong Ba Gua a comprehensive protective talisman, traditionally associated with warding off misfortune, balancing energies, attracting prosperity and promoting harmony in everyday life.
