This Rahu amulet was created by Arjan Nuad, a direct successor in the Kruba Nanta lineage (third generation), and today regarded as one of the foremost living masters of Lanna wicha. His standing is such that even senior monks and masters consult him for guidance in Lanna rituals and seek out his items for use in their own ceremonies.
This piece is a striking example of his work crafted from nga chang and bears the full symbolism of the cosmic balance: one side representing the sun, the other the moon, with the peacock and rabbit clearly visible on the reverse. Each side carries its own distinct function, harmonising celestial forces in a single sacred form.
The Lanna tradition of Rahu is regarded as the highest level of this wicha. Its roots trace back to India, moving into Burma and later into Northern Thailand, where it was perfected and preserved by masters like Kruba Nanta, acknowledged as the greatest Rahu master in Thai history. This piece continues that unbroken lineage.
It was carved by the same craftsman who produced works for Kruba Chum and who is himself the son of the artisan responsible for Kruba Nanta’s iconic pieces, adding another layer of authenticity and continuity to its creation.
Beyond the symbolism and craftsmanship, this is a collector’s treasure—a rare and high-end Lanna Rahu that embodies both artistry and spiritual potency. Such pieces are notoriously difficult to acquire, as most owners refuse to part with them. This particular specimen required long negotiation to secure, reflecting the reluctance of collectors to release such treasures.
In practical terms, Rahu of this level is sought for its ability to reverse misfortune, attract wealth, and unlock opportunities. Its reputation is well established: one businessman in Singapore, after experiencing consistent success with Arjan Nuad’s Rahu, built a collection valued at over one million SGD, a testament to the power and efficacy of this lineage.
This amulet stands as both a rare work of art and a living embodiment of the Lanna Rahu wicha, carrying forward one of the most respected spiritual traditions of Thailand into the present day.
