I have been connected to the Ban Mee Dee lineage since 2545 B.E., when I received my first Sak Yant from Ac Thong Talad Phu. Over more than 20 years, this Rian Moo Thong Daeng has remained a staple worn by many ajarns I have met from this respected Bangkok lineage.

For me, it is more than a memorial medal. It carries the spirit of a house of masters, teachings and protection that has endured across generations.

Summary

Rian Moo Thong Daeng, First Batch, 2533 B.E. (1990), is a copper memorial medal created in honour of Pho Tiang Nuamana of Ban Mee Dee, Bangkok Noi. Consecrated by his son and lineage heir, Ajarn Pong Nuamana, this Rian Tai was issued after Pho Tiang’s passing during his memorial period.

This example is the sought-after Block Khop Na (thick-rim mould), with strong relief and a substantial edge.

Historical Background

Pho Tiang Nuamana, affectionately known as Pu Tiang, was one of Bangkok’s most respected laymasters of the 2500 Buddhist Era. Based near Wat Thong, Wat Suwannaram, he was renowned for Sak Yant, protective wicha and the ancient knowledge of Ban Mee Dee.

His son, Ajarn Pong Nuamana, inherited the complete transmission of the lineage and conducted the consecration for this memorial issue.

Origins of the Materials

This medal was struck in Nuea Thong Daeng—copper—with the traditional darkened Rom Dam surface. The front depicts Pho Tiang seated in meditation, with the sacred Moo Thong Daeng beneath him: the copper wild boar, one of the lineage’s signature esoteric subjects.

The reverse bears the sacred Ban Mee Dee yantra and its protective formulas.

Ritual

Although issued after Pho Tiang’s passing, the medal was consecrated by Ajarn Pong through the authentic wicha, mantras and lineage transmission of Ban Mee Dee. For disciples, this direct continuation is what gives the piece its enduring standing.
