Summary
A rare Guman Thep consecrated by Por Tan Suksabai of Fang, Chiang Mai, created from long-preserved Mak Pakkam wood and raised through ritual to a Thep (deva) level presence. The piece carries the operational qualities traditionally associated with Guman practice while functioning through a refined celestial alignment focused on wealth movement, popularity, and social harmony. Produced in an extremely limited batch after repeated requests from Por Tan’s local disciples.
Historical Background
Por Tan Suksabai, also known as Por Narn Tan, is a respected lay master from Fang in Northern Thailand. Earlier in life he served in law enforcement and later became known for mastery of Northern protective disciplines connected to the Kongkrapan Sai Niew lineage. Stories surrounding his abilities circulated widely in the region, particularly accounts of extraordinary bodily protection that contributed to his reputation as a practitioner of formidable wiccha.
After the age of sixty, Por Tan gradually directed his work toward disciplines that could support his students in daily life. His focus shifted to teachings connected with Metta Mahaniyom and Maha Amnat, areas of influence that cultivate social harmony, respect, authority, and advancement in career or business. These teachings shaped the ritual direction of many of the objects he later created.
Among his students in Fang there had long been requests for him to produce a Guman Thep batch using materials he had preserved for many years. After repeated prompting from these disciples, Por Tan eventually agreed to create a very small run of pieces using wood that had been stored within his personal ritual collection.
Origins of the Material
The body of this figure is carved from Mak Pakkam wood, a material that Por Tan had kept in his possession for an extended period. In Northern magical traditions, wood that has remained within a practitioner’s ritual environment for many years gradually absorbs the energetic imprint of the rituals performed around it. By the time it is shaped into a sacred object, the material already carries accumulated spiritual charge.
Mak Pakkam is valued in several Northern craft traditions for its dense structure and durability. When carved into devotional figures it provides a stable body through which ritual intention can be anchored.
The figure itself was carved into the form of a youthful attendant spirit. The red sacred thread wrapped across the torso functions as a sealing element, stabilising the ritual energy placed into the piece during consecration.
Ritual
The consecration of this batch followed Por Tan’s later ritual direction, centered on Metta Mahaniyom and Maha Amnat disciplines. The spirit energy established within the piece was raised to a Thep level, meaning the alignment of the spirit form was elevated toward a celestial guardian nature associated with benevolence and protective assistance.
Through mantra recitation and sealing rites, the figure was stabilised so that it could function actively for the bearer. The ritual structure allows the spirit presence within the piece to operate without requiring strict observances from the owner.
Offerings are optional. The spirit alignment responds primarily to respectful intention and ethical conduct from the bearer.
Blessings and Effects
This Guman Thep operates through the sphere of social influence and prosperity movement.
Its presence supports the wearer or owner in attracting goodwill from people encountered in daily life. Interactions tend to become smoother and more cooperative. The piece also strengthens popularity and recognition, helping the bearer become more easily noticed and welcomed within social or business environments.
Wealth movement is another commonly reported function. Opportunities connected to trade, sales, and financial dealings tend to appear more frequently when the bearer is actively engaged in work or business activity.
The spirit alignment also provides a protective layer in environments where social tension or hidden hostility may exist, stabilising the surrounding atmosphere so that the bearer can operate with confidence.
Modern Application
In contemporary settings, this type of piece fits naturally into environments where human interaction drives success. Business owners, sales professionals, traders, and individuals working in public-facing roles often appreciate its influence on communication and rapport.
When carried during travel, meetings, or negotiations, the piece encourages smoother conversations and cooperative responses from others. In social environments it amplifies natural charisma and personal presence.
Because the spirit has been raised to a Thep level, the piece functions quietly and steadily in the background, supporting the bearer’s activities without requiring constant ritual attention.
Physical Details
The figure stands upright in a traditional youthful guardian form, carved with clear definition through the torso and arms. A red sacred thread is wrapped across the shoulder and waist, sealing the ritual structure of the piece.
The amulet is housed within a protective casing designed for regular carrying. Its size allows it to be worn comfortably on the neck or kept within a bag or personal altar space.
Each piece in the batch was individually carved and prepared, resulting in subtle variations between examples.
Recommended Pairing
This Guman Thep pairs naturally with items associated with Metta Mahaniyom or Maha Amnat disciplines from Por Tan’s lineage. Such combinations strengthen both social charisma and authority, creating a balanced energetic structure that supports both popularity and influence in professional environments.
