Summary

A Nang Kwak cast in central Thailand and later enhanced by Por Sala Tan, reflecting the elegance of central-style craftsmanship and the spiritual depth of northern consecration. Made from melted temple relics, aged bells, and sacred remnants, this 1-inch piece underwent an extended empowerment process involving burial in raw rice through a full harvest cycle.

Known among collectors as a Cambodian-style Nang Kwak due to its distinct features, it carries the combined blessings of wealth, abundance, and opportunity. Framed in silver and preserved in excellent condition, this is a refined example of Por Sala Tan’s cross-regional wiccha collaboration.

Historical Background

This Nang Kwak was first cast in central Thailand during a large merit-making ceremony in Suphanburi. Although Por Sala Tan primarily worked in the northern and northeastern provinces, one of his disciples residing in Suphanburi requested his presence for the consecration. The amulets were molded in the classic central form — rounded contours, soft facial expression, and deep lap posture — characteristic of mid-region Thai Buddhist art.

Following the ceremony, a limited batch was delivered to Por Sala Tan as an offering of gratitude for his participation. Rather than distributing them immediately, he chose to further refine their energetic charge through his own meditative practice.

Origins of the Material

The Nang Kwak was cast using a mix of sacred temple materials:
– Fragments of old temple bells, broken yet still resonant with years of chanting and vibration.
Temple relics and powders gathered from aged stupas.
– Metal remnants from ritual implements used in prior consecrations.

Such materials are traditionally believed to contain latent baramee and merit from decades of ritual use. By recycling them into new sacred forms, the blessings are renewed and redirected toward prosperity and protection.

Ritual

Por Sala Tan performed a unique rice-burial consecration, one of his signature post-ritual methods. The amulets were buried in raw, unpolished rice at his residence and left undisturbed until the following harvest season.

Throughout this period, Por Sala Tan chanted daily invocations for abundance and transformation, symbolically mirroring the process of seed-to-harvest. By the time the rice matured, the amulets were believed to have absorbed the essence of growth, sustenance, and renewal.

This method connects the Nang Kwak’s inherent blessing of wealth with the natural rhythm of fertility and prosperity — a cycle deeply aligned with agrarian and mercantile energy.
