The metal tiger crafted by Por Sala Tan belongs to a small batch of approximately one hundred pieces, created during a period when he was working closely with powerful animal-spirit materials. This tiger functions in a similar category to his wa tanoo—designed to intercept hidden hostility, neutralise backstabbers, and stabilise the owner’s environment—but it carries an additional dimension rooted in the tiger’s dual nature in northern spiritual traditions. Tiger relics, especially suer kraden relics, hold a reputation for combining commanding presence with auspicious energy. Por Sala Tan incorporated genuine suer kraden relics into this batch, which gives the piece a deeper essence than ordinary metal charms. The relics provide the “body” of the energy, while the blessing process gives it direction and purpose.
In northern practice, a tiger of this nature is used not only for protection but also for fortune, metta, and personal influence. While the protective aspect blocks malicious intent and discourages individuals who work from the shadows, the metta aspect softens interactions and encourages people to respond with respect rather than conflict. This dual character makes the piece suitable for those navigating competitive environments or dealing with individuals who may fluctuate between rivalry and cooperation. The attached takrut reinforces this quality. It acts as a converter—redirecting the fierce, commanding energy of the tiger into a form that supports charm, diplomacy, and attraction. This is why many owners describe this piece as one that can turn adversarial figures into cooperative ones.
During consecration, several holy men and monks reportedly recognised the presence of the tiger’s essence even before the pieces were formally presented. It is common for spiritually sensitive practitioners to identify the energy of animal-spirit relics immediately, and this batch was no exception. Because of their potency, many monks requested for pieces to be set aside for their own use. Although one hundred pieces were made, only around twenty remained by the time the batch returned from the northern consecration sites to Fang, Por Sala Tan’s hometown. The rest were taken, requested, or allocated during the blessing journey itself.
A number of owners have reported vivid experiences during sleep, describing auditory impressions of a tiger’s growl or presence. Such accounts are consistent with relic-based animal-spirit amulets, where the spiritual imprint remains active and interacts with the owner’s consciousness during periods of rest or lowered mental activity. Regardless of these experiences, the purpose of the piece remains practical: protection from unseen harm, strengthening of personal authority, enhancement of luck, and cultivation of metta so that the owner’s path remains smooth and relationships remain stable.
This metal tiger represents one of the more layered protective items made by Por Sala Tan—combining relic, ritual, and intention into a single, compact form suitable for daily wear and long-term support.
