Within the Lanna region—where Por Sala Tan’s practice is rooted—the protective bull, commonly aligned with the Wa Tanoo archetype, functions as a guardian entity used to shield individuals, households, and sacred spaces from harmful forces.

The kneeling posture seen in this effigy reflects a classical stance found in older Lanna and animistic representations. It conveys devotion, readiness, and disciplined strength. Materials and Composition

Por Sala Tan constructed this batch using kao kwai relics, traditionally valued for stability, grounding, and resistance to intrusive spiritual energies. Relic-based material carries the accumulated energy of age, use, and ritual significance. When shaped into a protective form, the resulting effigy gains a stronger capacity to anchor, repel, and stabilise.

The cords tied around the effigy were present during consecration and serve as conduits for the ritual vibrations, binding the blessing into the physical structure.
