This large Phra Pidta was formed from the relics of a cave ascetic whose life ended in deep samadhi. Hidden away in remote mountains, his body remained undisturbed for years, merging with the silence of the cave itself. When Por Sala Tan undertook his northern journeys, he would often seek out such secluded sites. It was during one of these explorations that he encountered the remains of this holy man. From the hip bone, carefully retrieved, he shaped the Pidta form—uniting human relic with the discipline of wiccha.

Por Sala Tan’s practice of Pidta wiccha emphasized concealment, withdrawal from distraction, and deep concentration. By sanctifying relic material into the closed-eye form, he brought together the baramee of the departed ascetic with his own mastery. Beneath the relic base lies the soil of the cave where the ascetic had lived and died, grounding the piece in the very place of practice. This union of bone and cave soil speaks of both impermanence and endurance—the passing of the body, yet the persistence of dhamma and meditative attainment.

Blessings and Effects

  • Concealment and Protection – The essence of Phra Pidta shields the bearer from harm, danger, and unwanted attention.

  • Authority of Relics – Relics of accomplished meditators carry immense weight, creating a natural aura of respect and unseen guardianship.

  • Wealth and Stability – Pidta wiccha attracts resources and opportunities. The cave soil ensures such blessings remain steady, not fleeting.

  • Clarity in Practice – For those who meditate, the piece supports inner stillness, shielding the mind from restlessness and strengthening focus.

Usage in Modern Life

This larger relic Pidta amplifies its presence in daily life:

  • In business and negotiations, it prevents deceit and neutralizes hostility.

  • In travel, it cloaks the bearer from accidents and misfortune.

  • In personal practice, it fosters composure, stability, and confidence, mirroring the solitude of the cave ascetic.

Carrying this piece is to carry the combined strength of two lineages of practice: the unnamed cave yogi who gave his very remains, and Por Sala Tan who transformed them into a vessel of protection and guidance. The size of this amulet enhances its impact, radiating both protective concealment and enduring authority.
