This amulet represents a rare fusion by Por Sala Tan, combining two potent deities into a single form: Rahu, the celestial devourer, and Chuchok Yak, the great beggar spirit known as the “King of Beggars.”

The front shows Rahu, cast from gaduk chang and strengthened with Burmese soil, embodying his cosmic role as the one who swallows light and misfortune. In ritual use, Rahu is a force that clears the skies of bad luck, consumes obstacles, and secures unseen protection. His presence ensures that negativity is eclipsed before it can reach the bearer.

On the reverse is Chuchok Yak, whose legendary gift is irresistible persuasion. As the giant beggar, whatever he requests is fulfilled. His hypnotic pull compels others to grant him support, wealth, and resources. In practice, this translates into the power to attract generosity, ensure success in trade, and bend circumstances toward prosperity.

Por Sala Tan created this fusion with clear intent. One of his close family members was beginning a humble push-cart noodle business, and he saw the need for both protection and the magnetism of customer support. By merging Rahu’s cosmic clearing power with Chuchok’s worldly command, he forged an amulet designed to bring both survival and flourishing. Only five pieces were made, each carrying this combined force. The present example is a new old stock, kept quietly in Por Sala Tan’s cupboard until his passing, preserved with its original intent intact.

The union of Rahu and Chuchok is rare and deliberate: Rahu consumes all that stands in the way, while Chuchok draws in all that is needed. Together they create a balance of removal and reception, ensuring that doors once closed are not only opened but filled with support and abundance.
