Deity / Figure
This amulet depicts Lersi Narai, the hermit-sage revered as a teacher of wisdom, meditation, and mystical knowledge. Lersi figures are honored as the guardians of esoteric wicha, guiding practitioners in both spiritual and worldly paths.
Historical Background
This image was hand-painted by Por Sala Tan during his early years of practice. Unlike later mass-prepared items, each piece from this period was individually worked, reflecting his hands-on approach and personal ritual care. The chosen material, mai takien kru lek, is directly tied to Lersi Narai himself, as he was known to sit beneath or climb the takien tree to meditate and rest. This association with the hermit imbues the wood with a strong spiritual signature.
A small number of pieces were carved from the core of a takien tree that was later struck by lightning—a rare and powerful sign in Southeast Asian animist tradition, marking the wood as highly charged with natural energy and auspicious force.

Mai Takien Kru Lek (Teacher’s Takien Wood): Considered to contain the spiritual aura of Lersi Narai.
