The carving represents Mae Per, the primordial female spirit of charm and desire in Thai–Khmer animist and tantric traditions. Mae Per is invoked as the embodiment of feminine magnetism, fertility, and irresistible attraction. She is often depicted in a nude form, emphasizing openness, seduction, and the raw force of maha sanaeh (great charm).

Historical Background

This piece was created by Por Sala Tan of Fang, a master well-regarded for his command of barang wicha and for using ritual materials drawn from both animist and Buddhist lineages. His Mae Per carvings are sought after for their authenticity, as they carry the traditional presence of female spirit magic used across Thai, Lao, and Khmer occult practice.

Materials

The amulet is carved from gaduk chang kraden (aged elephant bone), a material considered highly auspicious and spiritually potent for hosting spirit energy.
