This miniature Meed Mor (ritual knife) is a rare creation from Por Sala Tan, fashioned from Gaduk Chang Kraden (Old relic material). Measuring just 3 inches in length, it is compact yet fully empowered, wrapped in silver for preservation and ease of keeping.
What sets this piece apart is the presence of yantra inscriptions directly on the shaft—a feature seldom seen in Por Sala Tan’s body of work. He did not often make Meed Mor, and when he did, they were generally larger pieces intended for ceremonial or practical use by disciples. To encounter such inscriptions on a small, portable piece adds to its rarity and value.
This particular Meed Mor dates back to his early consecrations in 2525 BE (1982 CE), during the Wai Kru ceremony. As such, it is now over three decades in age, carrying the layered energy of time, practice, and devotion. Early works of Por Sala Tan are known for their raw power, imbued during his years of intense practice and pilgrimages, when rituals were conducted in caves, forests, and secluded wilderness.
The purpose of this Meed Mor was primarily protection during journeys into the jungle or caves. In the old tradition, wandering monks, hermits, and disciples would carry such tools not only as symbolic weapons against spiritual threats, but also as talismans against wild animals, unseen entities, and dangers of the wilderness. Beyond the physical, the Meed Mor represents a cutting away of obstacles, breaking through dangers and dispelling harmful influences.

Por Sala Tan’s Meed Mor are already uncommon, but this miniature example—crafted of aged Gaduk Chang Kraden, bearing yantras, and dating from his early period—ranks among the rarest forms of his consecrated tools. Its small size belies the depth of protection it embodies, making it both a functional talisman and a collector’s item of significant historical weight.
