This compact tiger amulet (Suer, เสือ) was part of a casual batch carved by Por Sala Tan during his time in the forest. Crafted from gaduk suer, the pieces carry a raw and unrefined character, reflecting the spontaneity of their creation rather than temple-style polish. At only 1 cm in size, they are practical for daily use—ideal for wallets, keychains, or as discreet companions—yet still hold the full force of the tiger’s spiritual discipline.
In Thai occultism and Buddhist protective magic, the tiger is central to the Wicha Suea Maha Amnaj tradition, the mystical art of tiger power. These amulets embody the qualities of command, fearlessness, and resilience, making them highly sought after by practitioners and collectors alike.

Materials and Context
Por Sala Tan’s tiger carvings align with a long tradition where such amulets are made from spiritually potent substances—bone, ivory, sacred wood, or relic materials—often inscribed or empowered with takruts. Though these forest-carved miniatures were created casually, they retain the core essence of the tradition: channeling the tiger as a guardian spirit of authority, protection, and prosperity.
Collector’s Note
This small batch was sourced from a retired Hong Kong dealer and is available in only 4–5 pieces. Because they were obtained cheaply, they are offered at an equally accessible price—rare for genuine Por Sala Tan works. Their size makes them excellent for everyday carry, and they also serve as a strong complement to Wa Tanoo amulets, combining protection and authority with reinforcement of personal fortune.
The tiger amulet remains one of the most iconic forms in Thai spiritual practice—respected equally for its mystical potency and as a tool of empowerment. These forest-carved miniatures by Por Sala Tan capture that force in a uniquely raw and intimate form, making them both practical charms and meaningful collector’s items.
