This piece is a highly distinctive creation by Por Sala Tan, made from gaduk pak suer, a rare relic material once placed with a Lersi during cremation. Remarkably, as can be seen in this piece, portions of the material—together with embedded Lersi relics on the back—remained unburnt, preserving the sacred essence of the ritual.
On the front, Por Sala Tan carved the form of the Suer Yan, a guardian spirit and principle deva associated with protection, courage, and power. This work reflects his early period of craftsmanship, around the age of 50–60, when his carving retained a raw, deeply spiritual intensity.
The reverse side holds cave soil and Lersi relics, sealed together with a single takrut to harmonize the energies. This powerful combination creates balance between protective force and blessings of authority. The energy of the piece is closely tied to wealth and baramee (spiritual authority and prestige), while also serving as a safeguard against hidden enemies and backstabbers.
At 3 inches in size, the amulet carries a bold, majestic presence. Both the sacred materials and the intricate carving affirm it as a strong and serious work of Por Sala Tan—meant not for ornamentation but as a true vessel of spiritual force, embodying protection, prosperity, and the living connection to Lersi traditions.
