This Tao Wessuwan is carved from gaduk chang graden, a rare and spiritually significant material long valued in Northern Thai wicha for its durability and ability to hold ritual energy. The image depicts Tao Wessuwan in full regalia with staff in hand, symbolising his authority as the guardian of the northern direction, commander of yaksha, and protector of the Dhamma.
The piece is mounted in an old-style steel frame from the era before plastic casings were available, reflecting both age and the preservation approach of that time.
