Spiritual Origin Story
This is not a typical lersi roop lor. This is a living vessel of wicha and spirit memory, made by Por Sala Tan in honor of a real, practicing Lersi Ser Ming Pai who had served for years in the forest lineages and later took refuge at the temple in his old age. The material and spiritual origin are as exceptional as the artifact itself.
The body of this figure is carved from the core wood of a Hong Prai tree which had a notorious history in a northern village. According to record:
-
The tree became a hotspot for mae prai (spirits of women who died unnaturally), especially those driven by depression or emotional pain
-
Numerous unexplained suicides happened involving this tree over the years
-
Local villagers avoided it out of fear—calling it a “soul catcher”
Por Sala Tan was called to inspect it. Upon chanting, he concluded that the spiritual weight was too heavy for normal sacred wood purposes like mai takien.
Instead of sealing it, he called upon a lersi and accompanying monks to conduct a plook sek yok winyan (spirit liberation ritual). What happened next was nothing short of miraculous:
-
On the night of the chanting, the tree was struck by lightning
-
On the third night, it was struck again, this time catching fire
-
Locals took this as a sign that the devas had intervened to cleanse it
Material Legacy
The Lersi involved in the ceremony—later residing at the temple—gathered the surviving wood and fashioned a personal tongkat (walking staff) from the inner core. This staff was used by him for many years as his main ritual support until his passing.
After the Lersi’s death, Por Sala Tan—who performed the final rites—used the remaining relic wood and burnt cloth fragments (including parts of suer cloth and pakam) to create this single statue in his honor.
-
Beads around neck: From the Lersi’s pakam, spiritually charged over decades
-
Cloth fibers and remnants: From burned suer clothing worn by the Lersi himself
-
Carved face and body: With leum lek (deep facial features) to serve as sathan winyan (residence for his essence)
Mystical Function
This piece is a spiritual anchor. Unlike typical lersi images used for baramee alone, this piece contains real spiritual memory and connection:
-
🧘♂️ Can be communicated with in dreams or trance
-
🛌 Low-level meditators have reported hearing guidance or receiving visions
-
🔮 Protects the home and pulls in deva energy when placed on a proper altar
-
✨ Can assist in decision-making by enhancing spiritual discernment and clearing inner confusion
According to multiple monks and lay meditators who’ve held the piece briefly, the energy is visceral, immediate, and responsive—this is not symbolic energy; it is present.
