🌧️ Born From Silence, Shaped by Humour

During a quiet rain retreat—when ceremonies were rare and travel restricted—Por Sala Tan found himself immersed in meditation deep within the Chiang Dao caves. In that solitude, he was repeatedly visited in his visions by a peculiar presence: a jovial, light-hearted Lersi known as Pu Lersi Pung Yai.

But unlike other spiritual encounters marked by solemnity or awe, this Lersi laughed, cracked jokes mid-meditation, and brought unexpected warmth. It was strange—because this Lersi had long been liberated. And yet, he kept showing up.

🪵 Relics in the Dark

One afternoon, while exploring a lesser-known path within the cave system, Por Sala Tan stumbled across a bundle of old cloth, wood, and what he intuitively recognized as relics of Pu Lersi himself—items likely left behind decades ago from the hermit’s own life of practice.

With ample time and few obligations, Por crafted this figure using those original materials, embedding it with the humorous, lively essence of the Lersi who refused to be forgotten.
