Lersi Chu Chok by Por Sala Tan – Early-Era Sculpture With Nga Chang Core
Framed & Blessed Personally Before His Passing | Wisdom & Wish-Granting Power | Collector-Held Legacy Piece
This is not merely a Chu Chok figure—this is a hybrid spiritual sculpture, forged by Por Sala Tan in his earlier period and reframed with full ritual attention just before his passing. It is one of the few known examples combining the identities of Lersi baramee and Chu Chok’s legendary wish-granting influence, all anchored into a core of aged nga chang (elephant relic), long favored by forest practitioners for its grounding and charm-based energy.
🔍 Artifact Overview
-
Subject:
A kneeling Chu Chok figure, rendered with quiet intensity—shoulder bowed, bundle carried, invoking the essence of a hermit who has surrendered to wisdom, humility, and the pursuit of karmic merit.
But look closer, and you’ll see this is no ordinary Chu Chok:
the shape, facial carving, and proportion reflect Lersi iconography, not simply that of a mythical beggar. This is a hybridized spiritual construct—a Lersi-form Chu Chok, made to embody both deep meditative insight and the power to grant wishes. -
Material:
Central body formed from old nga chang relic material, highly sought after by the collector who originally kept this piece for many years. Known for spiritual magnetism, nga chang helps with authority, grounding, and spiritual charisma—a perfect match for the functions this image is intended to channel. -
Back Detail:
Coiled rope and energy strands extend from the rear, symbolizing the trailing karma and power flow from Lersi down to the earthly plane—this is an advanced symbol rarely carved into Chu Chok pieces. -
Base Inscription:
Por Sala Tan inscribed yan on the front and rear edges of the base just before passing, during a personal ritual with the collector present. These are not factory stamps—they are direct hand-inscriptions, embedded with metta and intention. -
Casing:
Fully open custom Lanna-style silver casing, left open intentionally at both front and rear. This allows the spirit line within the image to breathe and radiate, instead of being sealed off—crucial for a piece meant for active request and connection.
✨ Spiritual Purpose & Legacy
Por Sala Tan described this amulet as a rare fusion of:
-
Wisdom (Lersi essence) – for making intelligent decisions, attracting solutions, discerning truth in business and relationships.
-
Granting (Chu Chok function) – for acquiring resources, gifts, and breakthroughs that seem “impossible” by ordinary means.
🔑 His words:
“Ask what you truly need, not just what you want. This one listens.”
And indeed, the original collector—who specialized in powerful, aged materials like nga chang—kept this piece close during his rise in both wealth and spiritual practice. It was only after years of confirmed blessings that Por Sala Tan offered to frame and yant it personally, sensing its work was complete and ready for transmission.
Shortly after this, Por Sala Tan passed on, making this one of the final pieces he physically touched and ritually completed.
