This Guman was made from relic gum of a young chang. Por Sala Tan treasured this material dearly, as it came from a specific elephant he personally connected with during his travels. But what made this piece truly unforgettable was the story behind its origin.

Years ago, a young elephant—playful and full of spirit—often roamed the village and grew close to the mahout’s son. They would play like siblings, unaware of the dangers that could come from such innocent joy. One day, during their usual play, the elephant unknowingly sat on the boy, not realizing its own strength. The child died instantly.

Overwhelmed by rage and grief, the mahout used a shotgun intended for wild beasts to take the elephant’s life. But the regret came swiftly and painfully—because that elephant was not just an animal to him, but family.

What followed was even more mysterious: for an entire month, the villagers reported recurring dreams of a young boy joyfully playing with an elephant. Not haunting, not frightening—but calm, vivid, and strangely comforting. There was no fear—only a sense of connection, as though both spirits were still together, at peace.

It was during this time that Por Sala Tan passed through the village. He sensed the fusion of energies—not ghostly, but sacred—and attempted to perform a ritual to release both spirits. But due to the nature of their deaths and deep attachment, the spirits would not part.

And so, he created this Guman Tong, fusing the relics with his wicha to stabilize the energy and anchor the bonded souls into a form that could bless others.

To this day, it is said the owner of this Guman will sometimes dream of a child and an elephant—never threatening, only peaceful. This is a Guman born not from darkness, but from love, loyalty, and spiritual connection.
