For active protection, counteraction, and energetic return to sender
This is a defensive-type wā tanoo crafted by Por Sala Tan using sacred materials from a rare event involving a mai takien (spirit tree). The tree in question was a jackfruit tree (mai payoom) already known to be inhabited by a spirit. Por Sala Tan himself had tied colorful cloth around the trunk to acknowledge and mark its sacred status, and villagers often came to make offerings, respecting the presence that resided within.
Years later, a local farmer unknowingly tied his water buffalo to this tree, and during a sudden storm, lightning struck the tree, instantly killing the animal. The impact of the lightning fused not only the essence of the original tree spirit but also the restless energy of the buffalo and elemental force of the strike — transforming the tree into mai payoom dai prai: a wood now infused with spirit power and natural force.
Por Sala Tan retrieved a section of the tree after the incident and kept it for use only in defensive wiccha, eventually crafting this powerful wā tanoo piece.
