A rare Por Sala Tan creation, this Payakaokam Salika is carved from Gaduk Chang and made in the 252x era. Within its compact 2.5-inch form is an unusually detailed composition centred on charm, speech, protection, and grounded personal influence.

I previously sold another piece from this batch last year, and the feedback has been consistently positive. One buyer, who worked in nightlife, later joked that he needed to find a wealth amulet next—the increase in social activity and outings had become expensive. While each person’s experience is personal, it was memorable feedback that reflected the strong seneh character for which this batch is appreciated.

Summary

This is not a standard Salika item made simply for sweet speech. Por Sala Tan placed Payakaokam, the ascetic-king associated with charm and persuasive presence, beneath the sheltering hood of the Salika bird. Around him are four celestial female figures, each carved to represent a different area of influence: metta, seneh, protection from betrayal, and unseen social protection.

Its construction moves beyond a single theme. The Gaduk Chang body provides a firm and grounded base, while the Lersi materials, takruts, and sacred soil on the rear establish a deeper spiritual framework behind the piece.

Historical Background

Por Sala Tan of Fang was known for works rooted in old Lersi traditions, where personal influence was not separated from discipline, protection, and spiritual balance.

In traditional amulet culture, the Salika bird is often connected with pleasant speech, persuasive communication, and the ability to be received warmly by others. Payakaokam expands this concept. Rather than relying only on verbal charm, the figure represents presence—the ability to enter a room, speak with confidence, and leave a favourable impression.

Origins of the Materials

These components were arranged as more than decorative additions. Symbolically, they connect earth through the sacred soil, spiritual lineage through the relics, protective formulae through the takruts, and persuasive expression through the Salika and Payakaokam imagery.

A defining feature of this batch is its immersion in Lersi Naman Prai, a rare sacred liquid wicha passed through old hermit lineages.

Unlike conventional prai-based items, this formula is regarded as non-ghostly in nature. Its purpose is to uplift and refine yin energy without invoking wandering spirits. This is an important distinction for collectors who appreciate strong seneh work but prefer a more balanced Lersi-based approach.

Por Sala Tan personally sketched and supervised the carving. The Salika’s wings and posture were designed to convey shelter and attraction, while the gestures of the four celestial figures were incorporated with specific symbolic intent.

The amulet’s influence is expressed through four central themes:
