Mai Payoom Paladkhik – Over 40 Years Carried by a Southern Monk

Material: Sacred Mai Payoom (พยุง) – Prosperity Wood
Lineage: Arjan Narongrit & Arjan Suk, Wat Kao Orr
Condition: Carried for over 40 years – clip and original string intact
Function: Baramee, Wealth, Respect in Deal-Making

A Monk’s Companion Through Four Decades

This particular paladkhik is not just a sacred object—it is a spiritual witness to a life of faith, duty, and quiet endurance. Acquired from an elderly monk during a field visit to southern Thailand, this piece had been carried by him for over 40 years, passed down from the very same rare batch that included the previously documented bi-color rak-payoom fusion piece.

The monk—after observing a respectful and honest amulet trade—approached to request help: he needed funds to send back to his remaining family. In exchange, he offered this paladkhik, which he had personally used since his early monastic days.

Mai Payoom – The Wood of Authority and Prosperity

Unlike mai rak, which magnetizes affection and desire, mai payoom channels respect, wealth, influence, and baramee (noble authority). It is a favored material for those walking a leadership path—be it in the sangha, civil service, or entrepreneurial world.

Each curve of this piece was carved under the direct ritual supervision of Arjan Narongrit and Arjan Suk, using their father schools' sacred formulas—especially chosen for dealmakers, landowners, and business practitioners.

Signs of Authentic Devotion

There is clear wear and tear at the base, particularly near the hole where the string once ran. This is not a flaw—it is the mark of four decades of continuous carry, likely across countless rainy seasons, temple fairs, and late-night prayers. The original metal clip used by the monk is still attached, as kept in its raw, untouched condition—an authentic reminder of its living legacy.

Such pieces—actually used, preserved with respect, and passed on directly by the bearer—hold a different spiritual weight from drawer-kept items. The power of such objects is not just in the wiccha or materials, but in the spiritual continuity of use, faith, and intention.
