In BE 2518 (1975), Wat Khao Tham Boonnak released a limited batch of Rian Payanak (naga medallions), personally blessed by Luang Pu Si Chantasiri—one of Thailand’s most respected forest monks. Created toward the final years of his life, this medallion carries not only his baramee, but also the ancient spiritual bond between forest monks and the naga realms.
The design features Phaya Naga, the serpent deity long believed to dwell in rivers, caves, and sacred mountains throughout Southeast Asia. In Buddhist cosmology, nagas are powerful beings known to protect Dhamma practitioners, grant blessings to those with pure intentions, and serve as spiritual guardians of sacred places.
The Connection Between Forest Monks and the Naga
Luang Pu Si, like many true forest monks, spent decades living and meditating deep in the wilderness, where encounters with elemental beings—including nagas—are not uncommon. Stories passed down from his disciples describe how animals and unseen beings would protect and assist him in times of danger. In his many years of tudong (wandering meditation) through jungles and riverbanks, he developed a deep karmic affinity with naga spirits.
It is well-known among practitioners that when forest monks reach high levels of concentration and purity, nagas are drawn to their presence, offering protection, energy, and even wish-fulfilling support. For this reason, naga-themed amulets blessed by forest monks are considered among the most potent for attracting material blessings, spiritual support, and smooth life transitions.
Sacred Purpose of the Rian Payanak
The 2518 Rian Payanak was made in limited quantity, intended for laypeople and disciples who sought:
Wish fulfillment through right intention and connection to higher beings
Protection from spiritual interference, envy, or obstacles in business or personal life
Support in meditation, especially when facing inner confusion or fear
Help in career, finance, and smooth passage through difficult periods
Many wearers have reported clearer paths when facing indecision, as well as breakthroughs in business or long-stalled opportunities shortly after wearing the piece.
Design and Symbolism
The front typically features a regal naga motif, often seen coiled or ascending—a symbol of rising through worldly challenges toward spiritual attainment. The reverse may carry yantra markings or temple seals that represent baramee, mindfulness, and safe passage across samsara.
These amulets were infused with Luang Pu Si’s energy during the final period of his life, when his meditative power was at its most refined. That blessing—silent, grounded, and enduring—is what gives this piece its continued strength.
For those seeking a naga-connected amulet grounded in real Dhamma practice, the 2518 Rian Payanak by Luang Pu Si is among the rarest of its kind. It is not only a piece of sacred art, but a quiet spiritual companion—offering protection, wisdom, and the hidden pathways toward blessings both seen and unseen.
