Before you read the information this piece is special because I know the grand father of a close Thai friend who was a direct luksit of Lp Si and this was passed down to his hand personally by Lp Si making this a very special piece else in the open market this amulet cost barely $300-400, in any case the gold done here alone cost $550 to make.
In BE 2518 (1975), just two years before his passing, Luang Pu Si Chantasiri—the revered forest monk of Wat Khao Tham Boonnak—blessed a small batch of Somdej Kaenean amulets.
This was one of the last officially consecrated batches by Luang Pu Si in person, making it not only spiritually significant but also historically important.
A total of only 5,000 pieces were created across three material variants, and they were produced at Wat Khao Tham Boonnak under close supervision by the temple committee and senior disciples.
This release was not for mass distribution—it was intended for close followers and those who truly believed in Luang Pu Si’s baramee and Dhamma.
Why the 2518 Somdej Kaenean Is Highly Regarded
Luang Pu Si was known for his directness, deep meditation, and strict Dhamma practice. He never commercialized his blessings. So when this Somdej batch was made, it was infused with genuine intention, not hype.
These amulets were often distributed with his blessing during alms rounds or temple events—but only to those he felt were ready to carry their energy.
Spiritual Value and Usage
Blessed by a monk who lived over 128 years and wandered the forests of Thailand, Laos, Burma, and even India, this amulet carries:
Metta mahaniyom: draws goodwill from those around you
Klawklad: helps avoid danger, misfortune, and conflict
Protection and resilience: born from a master who withstood the wilderness and spiritual trials for nearly a century
Stability and spiritual grounding: ideal for wearers seeking clarity, calm, and a stronger connection to Dhamma
Many users also note subtle yet lasting improvements in health, decision-making, and peacefulness after consistent wearing.
Material and Condition
The most desirable version of the Somdej Kaenean is the "chocolate-brown" variant, known for its rich tone and embedded traces of natural betel resin (น้ำหมาก) and temple-sourced sacred powders (tang ium)—a hallmark of authentic Luang Pu Si-era amulets.
These pieces are often found with clear rear inscriptions or press marks from the temple. Due to the limited quantity (only 5,000 ever made) and decades of demand, clean-condition pieces are increasingly hard to find today.
Legacy of the Master Behind the Amulet
Luang Pu Si was not just a monk—he was a living embodiment of Thailand’s forest monk tradition, respected by even the most senior masters, including Luang Pu Waen, Luang Pu Suk, and Luang Pho Phan. His stories of miraculous escapes, divine encounters in the jungle, and unwavering mindfulness continue to circulate among his followers today.
To wear this amulet is to carry a piece of that living tradition—grounded, tested, and revered.
