This Somdej Pim Rasami is the work of Luang Phor Pueak of Wat Kin Keow, crafted from sacred clay (nur din). The Rasami (“radiance”) design, depicting the Buddha seated in meditation with radiant lines emanating outward, was first introduced by LP Suk and carried forward by LP Pueak, becoming one of the most respected forms for building baramee (spiritual prestige and influence). The style later inspired other masters such as LP Kuay.
During the making process, the temple committee attempted to embed strands of LP Pueak’s hair into the amulets for added sanctity. The method caused natural crack lines to appear on many pieces when the hair did not adhere fully. These are considered a result of the original pressing process rather than later damage, and they preserve the authenticity of the batch.
While LP Pueak’s top-tier creations command values in the USD $30,000–$40,000 range, this Pim Rasami offers collectors an accessible way to own a significant and potent piece from his hand.
