Personal Experiences Shared by Luksits
After wearing or respectfully keeping this Guman Thong, many collectors of Luang Phor Yam’s pieces have shared experiences of improved business, increased customer traffic, smoother negotiations and unexpected financial opportunities. Some devotees also describe receiving timely intuition before important decisions, helping them recognise favourable opportunities or avoid troublesome situations.
Business owners commonly keep a Guman Thong at their shop, office or workplace with the traditional intention of encouraging steady trade and protecting the premises. Smaller examples such as this piece are also worn as pendants for prosperity, protection, Metta and guidance.
Other accounts include delayed payments unexpectedly arriving, customers returning with additional orders, helpful people appearing at the right moment and opportunities developing from previously quiet situations.
Summary
Created to commemorate Luang Phor Yam’s 100th birthday, this BE 2557 (2014) Guman Thong belongs to the celebrated Wat Sam Ngam lineage inherited from the legendary Luang Por Tae.
This particular example is preserved in its original baked-clay condition. The natural reddish-brown surface of the fired sacred clay remains visible, showing the texture and characteristics created during the original moulding and baking process.
Sacred white blessing material remains prominently applied across the front of the figure, while a small gold-covered sacred inclusion is positioned at the lower front of the Than Kratai, or Rabbit Pedestal.
The amulet has subsequently been professionally protected inside a new silver waterproof casing, allowing the original baked-clay figure to remain safely preserved for wearing.
Traditionally associated with wealth, business, customer attraction, protection and intuitive guidance, the 100th Birthday Anniversary edition represents an important modern continuation of the famous Wat Sam Ngam Guman Thong tradition.
Historical Background
Wat Sam Ngam in Nakhon Pathom is one of Thailand’s best-known temples associated with the traditional creation of Guman Thong.
Its reputation was established through Luang Por Tae, whose Guman Thong became highly respected among Thai devotees and collectors. His methods combined sacred materials, traditional Buddhist blessing practices and specialised Guman Thong Wicha.
Luang Phor Yam became an important successor to this lineage and continued preserving the Wat Sam Ngam methods for later generations.
The BE 2557 100th Birthday Anniversary Edition commemorated Luang Phor Yam reaching a remarkable century of life while also recognising his long dedication to maintaining the sacred tradition inherited from Luang Por Tae.
The figure sits upon the characteristic Than Kratai (Rabbit Pedestal). Within Thai sacred symbolism, the rabbit pedestal has long-standing associations with eloquence, persuasive speech, charm, successful negotiation and prosperity.
Sacred Materials & Ritual
The 100th Birthday Anniversary Guman Thong follows the established Wat Sam Ngam sacred-material tradition.
Materials traditionally associated with the formula include sacred soils collected from auspicious locations, Pong Prai Kumarn, temple earth, sacred herbs and flower pollens, bone material and old sacred powders connected with the earlier Wat Sam Ngam lineage.
These materials were incorporated into the clay mixture from which the figures were formed.
Each figure was individually moulded before being baked and hardened, creating the characteristic earthy reddish-brown appearance visible on this example.
The original baked-clay surface has natural tonal differences, small irregularities and traces of hand production. These characteristics form part of the individuality of traditional clay sacred objects.
On the front, sacred white blessing material was applied across the body. A gold-covered sacred inclusion can also be seen set into the lower portion of the pedestal.
Consecration
The batch was consecrated according to the traditional Wat Sam Ngam Guman Thong Wicha preserved through the lineage of Luang Por Tae and Luang Phor Yam.
An important element of this tradition is the ceremonial invocation associated with the Thirty-Two Body Parts, symbolically completing the spiritual body represented by the Guman Thong image.
Chanting, meditation and traditional invocation rites were performed to establish the blessings of the sacred figure according to the Wat Sam Ngam lineage.
The completed Guman Thong therefore represents both the physical sacred-material tradition and the ritual knowledge transmitted through generations of the temple’s masters.
Traditional Blessings
Within Thai belief, the Wat Sam Ngam Guman Thong tradition is particularly associated with:
-
Choke Lap – luck and unexpected opportunities.
-
Metta Maha Niyom – goodwill, attraction and favourable relationships.
-
Kha Khai – supporting trade, sales and customer attraction.
-
Pokasap – prosperity and accumulation of wealth.
-
Klaew Klaad – protection and avoidance of danger.
-
Assistance with negotiations and persuasive communication.
-
Protection of the home, shop or workplace.
-
Intuitive guidance and timely warnings.
Business owners have traditionally been especially drawn to Guman Thong because of their association with attracting customers, encouraging activity and watching over commercial premises.
Devotees commonly accompany their worship with merit-making, respectful conduct and offerings according to their own tradition.

Recommended Pairing
Guman Thong + Nang Kwak
This remains one of the classic combinations for people involved in business, retail, sales, commissions or customer-facing work.
The Guman Thong is traditionally associated with finding opportunities, attracting people, providing intuitive warnings and guarding its keeper.
Nang Kwak is traditionally honoured for beckoning customers, prosperity and continuing trade towards a business.
Together, the pairing is especially suitable for:
Business owners, retail shops, market traders, online sellers, property agents, sales professionals, freelancers and anyone whose income depends upon attracting customers or securing successful transactions.
In traditional Thai commercial settings, both sacred figures may also be respectfully positioned facing the entrance, symbolically welcoming customers and prosperity into the premises.
Personal Notes
The BE 2557 100th Birthday Anniversary Guman Thong carries significance both as a sacred object and as a commemorative piece from the later period of Luang Phor Yam’s life.
This example is particularly attractive for collectors who appreciate the character of original baked clay. Its exposed reddish-brown surface allows the texture of the material, moulding and firing to be seen clearly, together with the surviving sacred white blessing material and gold-covered inclusion on the pedestal.
The new silver waterproof casing provides practical protection while retaining full visibility of the original figure from both sides.
Most importantly, the piece maintains a direct connection with the celebrated Wat Sam Ngam tradition — a lineage beginning with Luang Por Tae and carefully continued by Luang Phor Yam.
For collectors of traditional Guman Thong, it represents a combination of recognisable lineage, commemorative importance, original sacred material and the distinctive hand-made character for which Wat Sam Ngam remains respected.
