Phra Pidta of Luang Phor Saeng, Wat Laem Maharat, Songkhla Province
Luang Phor Saeng was born on Wednesday, January 13, B.E. 2437 (1894), in Ban Na Thap, Na Thap Subdistrict, Chana District, Songkhla Province. At the age of 21, he ordained as a monk at Wat Laem Maharat. After ordination, he dedicated himself to deep Dharma study and meditation practice.
He became widely known for his strict discipline, diligence, and unwavering practice of asceticism. His reputation spread beyond the local area, earning him respect from both laypeople and fellow monks in many southern provinces. Over time, he was appointed abbot of Wat Laem Maharat, where he guided both the monastic community and lay devotees.
Throughout his life, Luang Phor Saeng created sacred objects and amulets, with the Phra Pidta being his most renowned. These amulets were revered for their protective power, invulnerability, ability to dispel dangers, and attraction of prosperity and good fortune. Countless stories circulated of devotees who wore his Phra Pidta and experienced miraculous safety and success.
His Phra Pidta is today considered one of the great amulets of the South, highly valued by collectors and worshippers for its potency and spiritual strength.
Luang Phor Saeng passed away peacefully on November 16, B.E. 2523 (1980), leaving behind a lasting legacy of sacred practice and amulets that continue to command great respect among Buddhists and collectors across Thailand.
