Luang Phor Prasit was born on 5 March 2484 BE (1941 CE) and passed away on 31 July 2559 BE (2016 CE). He was revered as one of the rare monks of his generation who embodied the meditative attainment and spiritual authority reminiscent of the earliest Thai forest saints.
A defining event occurred in 2545 BE (2002 CE) when, during a medical examination, X-rays revealed that one of his hands had crystallized into a relic-like substance. This incident was widely reported in Thai newspapers and became a subject of national attention. Even skeptics were left to acknowledge the extraordinary nature of this occurrence. From then on, he was often referred to as a “Living Arahant”, a monk who not only practiced but also visibly embodied the miraculous power of the Dhamma.
The Luksakod
This particular Luksakod (sacred encapsulation) holds profound significance. Like every sacred creation of LP Prasit, it incorporates bailan scripture relics. What distinguishes this piece is that the bailan relics included here were personally manifested by Luang Phor Prasit during meditation. These relics are said to embody Naga wicha and potent mantras, directly linked to blessings of baramee (spiritual authority) and wealth.
For this exclusive batch, LP Prasit inserted additional relics:
-
Hair relics, personally offered by the master.
-
Robes from the Katina ceremony of the previous year, which LP Prasit himself had worn for a full year before they were cut and offered.
These layers of sacred material make the piece a direct extension of the master’s baramee.
Transmission and Ownership
This Luksakod was not distributed widely but reserved for kamakan (temple committee members) and close disciples. Many prominent businessmen and devoted students of LP Prasit kept these pieces close, crediting them for both spiritual protection and worldly advancement.
The present piece comes from the collection of a retired military officer, a loyal temple volunteer who served weekly at LP Prasit’s monastery. Having been entrusted with several, he released this one, making it available outside of his circle.
The Luksakod has been carefully framed in silver casing, preserving both the relics within and the devotional aura it carries. This is the only specimen in my possession, and its rarity combined with provenance makes it a highly precious embodiment of Luang Phor Prasit’s legacy.
