Mae Nang Pim Yant – LP Up, Wat Tong Sai, BE 2548
This piece, created in 2548 BE (2005) by Luang Phor Up of Wat Tong Sai, is a rare Mae Nang Pim yant inscribed on sacred metal. I chose to frame it in plastic for preservation, as pieces like this are seldom found in clean condition.
Origins and Meaning
Unlike the speculative stories that try to link Mae Pim to barang or mountain devas, her identity is clearer within the lineage of LP Up. She represents a lesser deity, an avatar of Kaliamman (Kali)—a manifestation within a lower realm who embodies the trials of birth and suffering. The form of the yant itself shows this: her feet appear at the bottom as in breech birth, a symbol of pain and reversal. In older days, alcohol was offered to ease such suffering for mothers; likewise, devotees make offerings of alcohol or red drinks to Mae Pim to honor her condition and invite her blessings.
Ritual of Veneration
To venerate, place a small cup of alcohol or red drink before the yant. Begin with:
-
Namo Tassa x 3
-
Followed by “Uu Ga Pa Sa Ha Na Put” x 9
This simple rite connects with Mae Pim’s energy, drawing her protective and empowering presence.
My Experience with Mae Pim
When I first kept this yant, I was unsure of its exact effect. But within weeks, I began noticing a shift in my interactions—business negotiations became smoother, and people who had been resistant seemed more open, as if something softened their stance. On one occasion, after I had made the offering of alcohol before a major meeting, the outcome turned completely in my favor, even though the deal had looked lost before.
There were also subtle experiences: in meditation, I felt a warm, steady pressure at the crown of my head, as though Mae Pim was pressing her presence downwards, stabilizing me. This confirmed to me that her energy is real, direct, and active.
Significance
She embodies the pain of birth, yet also the strength to endure it. Those who connect with her find blessings in:
-
Easing conflicts and resistance.
-
Gaining support in negotiations or dealings.
-
Stabilizing luck when situations seem reversed or blocked.
For me, Mae Pim has become a trusted ally, her yant a constant reminder that even in suffering, power and blessing can emerge.
