Roop Tai of LP Up – Wat Tong Sai, BE 2547

This piece represents one of the intimate forms of remembrance and connection to Luang Phor Up of Wat Tong Sai. Instead of a cast or molded image, the front carries his actual photographic portrait (Roop Tai)—a practice used by some masters to allow devotees to carry the living presence of their teacher with them.

On the reverse, the piece is inscribed with LP Up’s handwritten Yant Kru—the master yantra that encompasses his full line of sacred formulas. The inscriptions act as a seal, harmonizing protection, metta (loving-kindness), and baramee (merit and spiritual authority). Unlike machine-stamped yants, these were inscribed individually, carrying the living hand of the master.

Consecration in BE 2547

This batch was made in very limited numbers during the three-month Buddhist Lent (Vassa) of BE 2547. In Thai tradition, Vassa is a period of deep cultivation and extended chanting, making it one of the most auspicious times for consecration. Amulets and talismans created during this retreat are considered to be filled with heightened spiritual energy.
