Deity / Master
This amulet venerates Lord Narai (Narayana), the supreme incarnation of Vishnu, enthroned upon Garuda. In Thai cosmology, Narai is the great preserver and protector, a deity of rulership, command, and divine authority. The maker is Luang Phor Prom of Wat Kononuer, Ayutthaya, one of the most respected meditation masters of his generation, active during the mid-20th century.
Historical Background
In B.E. 2513 (1970), Luang Phor Prom created a batch of only 1,000 pieces of Prah Narai. At that time, the temple was a center of serious meditation training, and Luang Phor Prom was widely recognized for his samadhi. Unlike many practitioners who accessed only lower spiritual planes such as ancestral or elemental spirits (Mae Pim and similar), Luang Phor Prom’s concentration allowed him to commune with higher deities, reaching the realm of Lord Narai.
This rare ability placed him alongside only a few masters of the era, such as Luang Phor Si and Luang Phor Doo of Wat Sakae, who shared advanced states of meditative attainment. Through this connection, Luang Phor Prom was able to channel and consecrate amulets embodying not just Narai, but also Phra Phrom (Brahma) and Lord Shiva, making Wat Kononuer a pivotal site for the production of high-level deity amulets in Ayutthaya.
