Cast Coin of Phra Kandhararat – Luang Phor Noi, Wat Dhammasala (circa B.E. 2497–2500 / 1954–1957)
This amulet carries blessings of fertility, abundance, and prosperity. While it was originally created for timely rainfall and agricultural success, in the modern world its power is understood more broadly—bringing stability in business, steady income flow, and growth in family or personal endeavors. It represents the timeless principle that prosperity begins with balance and nourishment, whether of land, work, or relationships.
Created by Luang Phor Noi of Wat Dhammasala, one of Nakhon Pathom’s most respected monks, the amulet depicts Phra Kandhararat, the Buddha associated with rainfall and seasonal harmony. It was cast around 1954–1957 and consecrated to ensure rain at the proper time, fertile soil, and bountiful harvests—blessings that communities depended on for survival.
The image of Phra Kandhararat traces back to Gandharan art influences from early Buddhist India, where he symbolized life-giving rain and the prosperity it sustains. For Thai tradition, he became a central figure in rain-invoking rituals and ceremonies tied to national well-being.
The coin was cast in bronze alloy using traditional methods. Collectors especially value examples with “piu derm” (original skin)—the untouched casting surface that has naturally aged over time. This condition confirms authenticity and adds significant historical and collector value.
Respected in its own time for bringing rainfall and harvest, today the Phra Kandhararat coin is cherished for its broader prosperity blessings, making it relevant for those seeking stability, success, and growth in both personal and financial life.
