These Phra Somdej amulets were expertly carved from the remaining fragments of the legendary Canadian jade, the same sacred jade used to create Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Thammasri Thai Jade—the largest Jade Buddha statue in Thailand, enshrined at Wat Dhammamongkol, Bangkok.

A Gathering of Enlightened Masters

For the consecration of these amulets, several highly revered monks were invited, including:

Luang Por Kasem Khemako

Luang Por Viriyang Sirindharo, a direct disciple (luksit) of Ajarn Mun Bhuridatta Thera, one of Thailand’s greatest meditation masters.

A Jade Unlike Any Other

During the sacred ceremony, these esteemed masters immediately recognized that this jade possessed a unique energy. They felt the presence of Payanak (Naga) essence within the stone—something beyond ordinary jade.

As this revelation spread, especially among followers from Northern Thailand, many believers, deeply connected to Naga reverence, swiftly reserved this entire batch. As a result, most of the amulets were taken back to the North, where they remain cherished.

A Collector’s Testament

The Phra Somdej jade amulets I have collected come directly from an individual who originally commissioned a portion of this batch. This person still retains the original receipt, serving as historical proof of their direct connection to this sacred production.
