Summary
The Prah Phuttha Saksit, also known as the Buddha of a Thousand Victories, represents one of Luang Phor Kampan’s most revered creations from Wat That Mahachai in Nakhon Phanom Province, northeast Thailand.
This first-batch casting was personally supervised by the master and incorporates naga relics (Phathat Witthat) gathered along the Mekong River, along with consecrated metal sheets engraved by his own hand. Renowned for its ability to manifest wishes and fortify the wearer’s baramee, it remains one of the most spiritually responsive Buddha images from the modern era.
Historical Background
The story of this Buddha image originates from Luang Phor Kampan’s tudong journey to Laos decades ago. During his meditation near the border region, he beheld a radiant Buddha form within his vision — an image that revealed itself physically on his return path to Thailand. Recognizing its significance, he enshrined the original at Wat That Mahachai, where devotees may still pay homage today.
This particular Buddha form became known as Prah Phuttha Saksit, meaning “the Sacred and Responsive Buddha,” for its history of answered prayers. Local devotees widely attest that when they pray or speak to this image, their petitions are heard. Even in LP Kampan’s absence, people would report their concerns directly to the statue — and upon his return, he would inexplicably know who had come and what they had asked for, as though divinely informed.
Before his passing, LP Kampan affirmed that anyone who venerates this image with sincerity would receive his spiritual aid whether he remained in this world or had entered Nirvana.
Origins of the Material
The first batch of Prah Phuttha Saksit was cast from an alloy blended with holy relic metals, temple artifacts, and yantra sheets inscribed by LP Kampan himself. These sacred components anchor both merit and elemental balance within each statue. The base of every piece contains a small embedded naga relic (Phathat Witthat) a stone relic gathered by LP Kampan in his younger years along the banks of the Mekong River. Such relics are prized for their ability to attract baramee, elevate status, and support fortune, embodying the protective presence of Prah Payanak.
Ritual
The consecration was conducted in one of the most elaborate ceremonies of LP Kampan’s lifetime. The ritual gathered Brahmins, forest monks, and senior Arjans from across the region. Their purpose: to invoke the blessings of the Devas and Naga Kings, ensuring the sacred bond between heaven, earth, and water would be sealed within each image.
The event was accompanied by continuous chanting, the lighting of a many candles, and an invocation ceremony linking the energy of the Mekong River the naga’s domain — to the amulet itself.
Each amulet underwent multiple days of chanting before final sealing by LP Kampan himself, who infused the relic stones with energies of blessings at the temple.
