Historical Background

The Rian Phra Phutthatratsaru was created by Luang Phor Derm of Wat Nong Pho in B.E. 2485 (1942), during the peak of his spiritual power. This was a time of war, and Luang Phor Derm consecrated this medal to strengthen the nation’s baramee (spiritual merit and collective energy) — to restore morale, faith, and stability when fear and uncertainty spread through the land.

In modern times, the same power manifests as wealth and stability, particularly during years of turbulent energy. In 2025, when the sickness star dominates the annual feng shui, this amulet serves as a direct counterforce, channeling the strength of enlightenment and vitality against weakening influences that affect health, wealth, and spirit.

Design

Front:
The Buddha is seated on a lotus base beneath a canopy of Bodhi leaves, representing the exact moment of Supreme Enlightenment. The imagery embodies victory over suffering, wisdom beyond illusion, and the energy of inner illumination that transforms hardship into prosperity.

Reverse:
The back features a celestial yantra (duang) surrounded by the Thai inscription:
“ตรัสรู้ ดวงพระชาตา พ้นกิเลศ”
(“Enlightenment, the destiny that transcends defilements.”)
This yantra acts as a seal of spiritual purification and protection, anchoring the wearer’s destiny to clarity and strength.
