Item/Amulet: Jiu Gong Ba Gua

Temple/Master: Tibet

Pim/Year: 20 Years +

Province: Lhasa

Material: Temple Relic

Category: Mainstream

Size: 2.5"

These talismans were hand-selected during my personal journey to Lhasa, Tibet sourced directly from top local collectors and spiritual keepers who truly understand their sacred purpose.

Each piece was:

Blessed in Sera Monastery — a revered Buddhist university known for protective rituals
Empowered in Jokhang Temple — one of Tibet’s holiest sites, where my guide arranged personal prayers by monks

Unlike commercial brass knock-offs, these are:

🔹 Handcrafted using traditional Tibetan-Chinese methods
🔹 Made with sacred materials, not industrial alloys
🔹 Ritually awakened and sealed for real spiritual work

The Nine Palaces & Eight Trigrams Talisman (九宫八卦牌) is a powerful spiritual and protective object deeply rooted in Chinese metaphysics, Tibetan Buddhism, and folk traditions.

Core Structure & Symbolism

1. Three Concentric Circles
Outer Circle:

Features the 12 Chinese Zodiac Animals (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig), representing the 12 Earthly Branches and the cyclical nature of time. Together with the Heavenly Stems, they form the 60-year cycle (甲子).

Middle Circle:

Displays the Eight Trigrams (Bagua): Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth). These trigrams symbolize fundamental natural forces and are arranged according to the "Later Heaven" sequence, each representing an element, direction, and aspect of life.

Inner Circle:

Shows the Nine Palaces (Lo Shu Grid), a 3x3 magic square associated with numerology, feng shui, and cosmic balance. Each palace (numbered 1–9) corresponds to a color, element, and symbolic meaning:

1: White (medicine/health)

2: Black (protection)

3: Green (growth/wood)

4: Blue-green (prosperity)

5: Yellow (center/authority)

6: White (leadership)

7: Red (energy)

8: White (stability)

9: Purple (fire/achievement)

2. Mantras & Deities

Central Mantra Wheel:

The heart of the talisman often contains a mantra wheel, invoking blessings and spiritual protection.

Deities:

Commonly features the "Three Lords of Wisdom and Power" (Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara/Guanyin, Vajrapani), symbolizing wisdom, compassion, and strength.

Some versions include other protective deities or symbols like the Wheel of Time (Kalachakra), wrathful guardians, or auspicious animals

3. Additional Symbols

Protective Mantras:

Lower right: Mantras for increasing merit and absorbing cosmic energy.

Lower left: Mantras for dispelling negativity, harmonizing the five elements, and shielding from misfortune

Four Fierce Guardians:

Sometimes depicted at the base, these figures guard against calamities and misfortune
