This medallion was created in 2007 to commemorate the unveiling of the monument of Pol. Maj. Gen. Khun Phantharak Ratchadet (Khun Phan), the legendary law enforcer and master of Southern Thai wicha. Known nationwide as the “Tiger Hunter of Ten Directions”, Khun Phan’s name evokes fearlessness, protection, and authority. His image on the front of the medallion represents baramee (merit power), protection, and amnaj (commanding authority) that radiates to the wearer.

Dual Power of Khun Phan and Jatukarm

The reverse of this Rian is equally significant, as it features the sacred image of Ong Phor Jatukarm Ramathep, the celestial guardian deity of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The combination of Khun Phan’s earthly baramee and Jatukarm’s heavenly blessings makes this medallion a true fusion of power:

  • Khun Phan’s Presence: Enhances influence, authority, and protective energy. The wearer is seen with respect and commands attention in any gathering.

  • Jatukarm’s Blessing: Brings wealth, prosperity, wish-fulfillment, and smooth success in endeavors.

Together, they create an amulet that offers both worldly command and divine fortune.

Sacred Consecration and Heavenly Signs

The medallion underwent four separate grand puthapisek ceremonies at highly sacred sites, including Tham Ruesi Khao Ngu in Ratchaburi, Ho Phra Viharn Sung and the Saduak Talay Pak Phanang (the Navel of the Sea) in Nakhon Si Thammarat, and finally at the Viharn Luang of Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan.

During these ceremonies, witnesses recorded the appearance of a solar eclipse, a cosmic sign traditionally understood in Thai belief as acknowledgment from the heavens that the blessings had been accepted. This rare alignment elevated the spiritual potency of the consecration, marking the medallion as divinely sanctioned.

Blessings and Power

  • Baramee (Merit Power): Khun Phan’s baramee empowers the wearer with inner strength, confidence, and the ability to inspire loyalty.

  • Amnaj (Authority): Enhances one’s aura of command and influence, especially useful for leaders, professionals, and those in positions of responsibility.

  • Wealth & Wish-Granting: Jatukarm’s role ensures material abundance, success in ventures, and fulfillment of personal aspirations.

  • Protection & Safety: As Khun Phan was both a warrior and protector, his energy shields the wearer from danger, misfortune, and malevolent forces.

Collector’s Value and Legacy

  • Directly tied to Khun Phan’s monument and statue, making it a historically important commemorative issue.

  • Blessed in four separate ceremonies, each held at sites with immense historical and spiritual resonance.

  • Witnessed under a solar eclipse, a phenomenon that amplified the sacred aura of the ritual.

  • Combines two of Thailand’s most respected spiritual figures—Khun Phan and Jatukarm—into one medallion, enhancing its spiritual and collector value.
