Deity / Master

This Hoon Payoon was crafted by Ac Lek, the son and direct student of Por Sala Tan, during a formative period of his studies in Ayutthaya, the central region famed for its lineage of Hoon Payoon masters.

After completing his learning there, Ac Lek returned to the North and began creating effigies using local sacred materials with higher spiritual essence and vitality than those commonly found in the central provinces. Each of his early pieces reflects this dual-heritage craft — Ayutthaya methodology fused with Lanna spiritual depth.

Historical Background

During his pilgrimage through Ayutthaya, Ac Lek was trained in the classical forms of Hoon Payoon creation — the construction of guardian effigies imbued with metta, protection, and retaliatory power.

Upon returning north, he gathered traditional materials from deep mountain and rural temples, choosing components believed to carry stronger elemental energy. These raw items were assembled into a small number of effigies about twenty years ago.

The surviving pieces today are considered “spares” from that era — all individually handcrafted and slightly distinct in proportion and weave, as each was formed by hand rather than cast. After assembly, Ac Lek personally brought the effigies to Por Sala Tan for a secondary consecration, sealing the work with the elder’s meditative baramee.

Materials

  1. Rice Straw (Yaa Khao) — Forms the base and internal framework. Symbol of vitality and life force; believed to anchor magical intent and attract sustenance.

  2. Rattan Wicker (Mai Wai) — Used for the limbs and bindings. Its interwoven form traps and neutralizes hostile forces; provides flexibility and resilience.

  3. Banana Tree Husk (Dtanii) — Taken from trees that “died while flowering,” a powerful omen material associated with female guardian spirits and charm-magic.

  4. Sacred Forest Vines (Kruea Thao Wan, Thao Hlong) — Amplify the spirit’s binding strength; each vine carries the pulse of the jungle’s guardian deities.

  5. Palm or Talipot Leaf (Bai Laan) — Inscribed with protective yantra before being shredded and rolled into the inner core, symbolizing scriptural authority and stabilizing wisdom.

Blessings and Effects

The power of this Hoon Payoon lies in balanced aggression and fortune. It guards its keeper from harm, reverses malice, and returns the energy of deceit or betrayal back to its source.

At the same time, it is known for its wealth-fetching ability drawing trade, prosperity, and benefactors toward the owner. This dual nature reflects the Ayutthaya philosophy that true protection is incomplete without abundance.

The effigy’s baramee is deeply charged through Por Sala Tan’s second consecration, giving it a living quality that continues to protect, warn, and attract luck to the household or business that venerates it properly.

Usage in Modern Life

This piece is ideal for individuals involved in business negotiations, trading, or leadership roles, where unseen competition and envy often arise. Its energy works quietly stabilizing income streams while guarding against betrayal.

Because every effigy was handmade, owners describe a “living presence” unique to each piece, one that responds subtly to prayer and incense offerings. Its protective and wealth-drawing properties remain potent decades later, preserving Ac Lek’s early craftsmanship and the spiritual continuity of Por Sala Tan’s lineage.
