Summary

The Phong Chang Pasom Khloeng — known as the Elephant Convergence Powder — stands among Ajahn Chum Chaikiri’s most revered wiccha creations. Made in B.E. 2519 (1976) at Wat Chamnihatthakan, it embodies the Southern lineage’s highest form of metta maha saneh energy, designed to attract harmony, love, and respect. Introduced to me personally in the early 2010s by Arjan Dhen, a disciple of Ajahn Chum’s son, this formula marked one of my earliest exposures to Southern charm and sak yant traditions.

Historical Background

Ajahn Chum Chaikiri — the legendary white-robed master of Southern Thailand — was known not only for his occult wiccha, but for his deep discipline in transforming ancient charm lore into Dhamma-aligned blessings.
During the Rains Retreat (Vassa) of B.E. 2519, he spent the full three-month period creating the Phong Chang Pasom Khloeng at Wat Chamnihatthakan. Every day, he would grind powders, chant incantations, and record mantras in the sand before blending sacred elements gathered from the forests and temples of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The name Chang Pasom Khloeng refers to the uniting of elephants into a herd, symbolizing the irresistible pull of affection and unity. Just as elephants are drawn together by unseen instinct, this powder draws people through warmth, compassion, and magnetism.

Origins of the Material

The ingredients were composed of multiple wan maha saneh (enchanting herbs) and pong wiccha (ritual powders), including the essence of Phaya Thek Khrua — an ancient herb so potent that even a drop in a household water jar was said to make all members feel deep affection for the person who used it.
Ajahn Chum’s powder also contained offerings written by hand, elephant-based essences (Phong Wiset Chang Pasom), and sacred resins blended into a formula that balances both yin tenderness and yang command.

Disciples close to the master attest that this batch produced energy beyond description — the purest combination of compassion and attraction, tempered with Dhamma awareness.

Ritual

Ajahn Chum created this batch entirely by hand during the three-month Vassa. He continuously inscribed mantras (lobb pong) and mixed them with sacred wan herbs, chanting ancient invocations to invoke metta maha saneh and baramee. The process demanded uninterrupted concentration; each evening, he anointed the mixture with oil before sealing it under prayer for the night.

After completion, the master performed a liberation ritual to neutralize lower astral forces, ensuring that the charm would function through compassion rather than manipulation. He then declared that the user’s heart — not desire — would determine how the powder responded.

Blessings and Effects

The Phong Chang Pasom Khloeng carries both charm and moral responsibility.
Primary Blessings include:

  • Metta Mahaniyom – universal charm that draws goodwill and support

  • Maha Saneh – attraction and admiration from others

  • Social Harmony – dissolves conflict and fosters cooperative energy

  • Household Unity – strengthens familial and romantic bonds

  • Authority with Compassion – soft power through presence and sincerity

Warnings and Ethics:
Ajahn Chum was clear — this wiccha must never be abused. If intimacy arises under its influence, the practitioner must take full responsibility for the relationship.

The charm works best when carried with mindfulness simply wearing or keeping it near the body generates strong metta energy that opens hearts and smooths encounters.

Modern Application

In my own experience, I was first introduced to this sacred powder around 2010, during the years I was immersed in the sak yant path. Arjan Dhen, a direct student of Ajahn Chum’s son, shared his lineage knowledge with me, explaining the ethical depth behind Phong Chang Pasom Khloeng. Unlike common charm powders, this one teaches balance — the mastery of emotion, intention, and respect.

Today, it remains ideal for those who work closely with people — leaders, teachers, healers, sales professionals, or anyone seeking to strengthen personal influence without force. Its energy blends both empathy and command — the essence of Southern Thai metta.

Physical Details

The powder from this 2519 batch retains a natural cream-brown tone with fine texture and traces of herbal granules. Some portions were later sealed in small tubes or wearable pendants by Ajahn Chum’s disciples. When held, it emanates calm, grounded energy — distinctly Southern in vibration and unmistakably sacred in fragrance.
