The Avatar of Procreation
The Payakaokam in the avatar of procreation is considered the most erotic and sexually charged form of this deity’s manifestations. Created by Arjan Bed during his peak years of striving to establish himself as the North’s foremost master of seneh (attraction and enchantment) amulets, this image embodies the raw force of human desire. Its explicit form is deliberate—meant to invoke not only physical attraction but also the irresistible magnetism that draws partners together on a karmic level. Within Thai and Khmer magical traditions, erotic imagery was not seen as taboo but as a vessel to channel the deepest life energies into talismans that influence love, lust, and human bonding.
The Spiritual Work of Arjan Bed
To bring this avatar into form, Arjan Bed entered extended meditations where he claimed to ascend through spiritual realms in search of the devas who guarded the mantras of union and desire. Through this, he secured the spiritual formulas required to consecrate the Payakaokam in its most vital form. The process reflects not only ritual skill but also a mastery of inner vision, since the creation of such an amulet demands more than technical preparation—it requires alignment with subtle spiritual laws governing attraction, passion, and union.
Materials and Ritual Construction
The piece is made from a carefully prepared mixture of 108 sacred herbs and powders, each selected for its reputation in amplifying seneh energy. Traditional formulas would have included forest herbs known for their aphrodisiac qualities, graveyard soil to anchor spirit potency, and blossoms tied to romantic rites. These ingredients were bound together under mantras and molded into the avatar’s form, then sealed through nights of ritual chanting. The density of these materials gives the amulet its distinctive earthy fragrance—a scent that cannot be imitated by modern remakes.
Authenticity and Rarity
Because of its fame, the Payakaokam avatar of procreation has been heavily copied. Market stalls and weekend bazaars across the North and in Bangkok sell replicas for as little as $20–30, often crudely molded without spiritual preparation. The authentic pieces of Arjan Bed, however, are rare and increasingly difficult to locate. Collectors and serious practitioners know them by their distinct smell, the feel of aged herbal material, and the weight of consecration carried within. When I visited Arjan Bed’s family years ago, I was fortunate to acquire a few originals directly from his parents—a provenance that ensures both lineage and authenticity.
